We LOVE the country! It’s so peaceful and quiet here in the Big Creek Valley. The views of active farms and majestic wooded hills are spectacular any time of year. We’re home in Wisconsin after more than a decade away. Here on the hillside, overlooking the dairy farm where I (Larry) grew up, it feels a little like we’re on vacation every day! (Well - a working vacation maybe!)
Lu and I have traveled quite
a bit, both domestically and some internationally, staying in hotels
and motels from very basic to luxurious suites. We know that where we
stay - how comfortable we are - can dramatically affect how much we
enjoy our free time and how well we will likely perform when the travel
is work-related. We've learned that having a comfortable, relaxing (and
sometimes romantic) place to call our 'home on the road' is an important
factor in how much we enjoy our travel.
We'd love to share the joy of our relaxed country living
with you, so that when you travel to our area, whether on business,
recreation, or a romantic getaway, you'll have a perfect place to stay
that will add to the enjoyment or productivity of your trip. We’ve designed and constructed a luxurious full-size
apartment for you to use, for a night, for a week, or longer if you
wish. Our Elite Rural Home and our New Country Home are right next door.
In 2013, we started Used Anew. We have an inventory of materials saved from unwanted buildings in the area that we mill into usable products like flooring, accent or ceiling features, etc. We also make furniture and decor from reclaimed materials During your visit, you’ll see stacks and sheds filled with reclaimed lumber on site and you may see customers coming and going.
Just down the hill from us, we’ve remodeled a ranch style home with installations of our flooring and accent materials, rustic furniture, kitchen cabinets and country decor. We call it our Show Home & Shoppe. Feel free to schedule a tour during your stay. We also have a small antiques & collectibles store in the garage of the Show Home & Shoppe. We’re very proud of the business we’ve nurtured. We feel good about all the high quality materials we’ve saved from destruction and LOVE getting them into the hands of our customers who enjoy giving them a second productive life in their homes and offices. We're conveniently located just a few miles drive from Interstate 90 and US Highway 16, east of LaCrosse, Wisconsin, a few hours south of the Twin Cities and less than a half day's drive from Chicago. We're nestled in an agricultural valley surrounded by rolling hills with beautiful views of the countryside. We hope you'll come spend some time with us.
